When we assembled Gidani some 24 months ago as a company to bid for the right to operate South Africa’s National Lottery, we were marked by the sense that our bid had to offer more benefits to ordinary South Africans and maintain the public’s trust in the lottery.
In the bid, we made a number of commitments to the lottery stakeholder and we aim to meet these in various ways.
First and most important, we are resolute to raising the bar in generating unmatched funds for good causes and facilitating sustainable empowerment for our people.
This steadfastness is propelled by the basic injunction of our government when it decided to institute a national lottery. We are true to that call.
To do this, we have improved the management and operation of the retail points of sale, as well as improving the return on investment for our retailers. Our retail network footprint straddles the length and breadth of South Africa, enabling ordinary citizens to participate. We are mindful that it is our duty to ensure that anyone in South Africa can play the lotto wherever and whenever they wish, and we have fulfilled that requirement.
We have spent massively in setting up two state-of-the-art data centres, one in our head-quarters in Midrand and the other one is our disaster recovery site in a different location. Significantly, is our home-grown, highly experienced and trained team of employees who will on an ongoing basis be sent to Intralot Greece for international exposure.
It is thus our commitment to ensure that you enjoy playing the lottery, because both you and numerous charities stand to benefit.
Our greatest achievement will be the public good that comes from how we drive the South African National Lottery.
